The Texas Voice Project provides seven weekly speech groups, which are led by LSVT® certified speech-language pathologists. Upon completion of the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment, each patient is assigned to a specific speech group. During the group session, patients will perform the LSVT exercises and will be re-instructed on various topics including: Parkinson’s, speech production, mechanics of swallowing, vocal hygiene and more. Patients also practice using their “LOUD” voices during conversational tasks through group discussions and role playing activities.

Patients who participate in the weekly speech groups have been shown to maintain their voices better than those that do not attend. In fact, the Texas Voice Project has patients who have maintained their voice improvement for up to eight years.
